Why Choose Rice Lake Elementary
Rice Lake Elementary is located in Maple Grove and serves more than 650 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade.
We provide a full range of support services to meet the varying needs and talents of our scholars, and our dedicated, collaborative staff plan instruction that enhances learning. Rice Lake also boasts a supportive PTO that provides opportunities to enrich the elementary experience for all children.
Support to grow as lifelong learners
At Rice Lake Elementary, we work with all scholars to provide appropriate academic support and rigor. From gifted education opportunities to services that support learners with special needs, our mission-driven staff helps each individual student succeed and lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Rice Lake scholars also benefit from our C4 programming, which stands for Challenge, Create, Construct and Connect. By providing activities that are creative, challenging and often rooted in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), our students stay engaged in learning.

Safe and healthy school climate
Rice Lake students are wonderful examples of our school's theme, "Rice Lake Roadrunners Value Respect, Learning and Responsibility."
Students earn recognition for demonstrating positive behaviors in their classroom and throughout the school. In addition, we focus on positive character traits with monthly themes and fun activities.
Family & community partnerships
We're thankful for a supportive Parent-Teacher Organization that provides our scholars with many opportunities to achieve their dreams, participate in enriching activities, grow as young leaders, and prepare for success in middle school. Yearly events such as Turkey Bingo, Family Dance, Fun Run, Super Kids Day, and book fairs keep Rice Lake families active and engaged in their child's elementary experience.
In addition, our students and staff contribute to their community through service projects that benefit CROSS food shelf.
