Fun after school hours: PTOs host events to bring communities together

On April 11, the Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTOs) at Cedar Island and Rice Lake elementary schools gave students and families fun opportunities to visit the school after dark with events that brought their communities together.

At Cedar Island Elementary School, students and their families pounced into fun with the Bobcat Bash! The event included food trucks, a silent auction, carnival games, a raffle, a crazy hair station, face painting, a photo booth and an obstacle course created by the Maple Grove Fire Department. The Bobcat Bash brought together students, families and staff to celebrate their vibrant school community.

Students showed off their glow sticks and best moves at the Rice Lake Elementary School PTO Glow Dance. In the dark gym, a DJ played a variety of hit songs for students to dance to as they waved their glow sticks and other lighted accessories. After busting a move, students and their families enjoyed snacks in the cafeteria, got their face painted and posed in the photo booth.
